We arrived at Canungra and the first thing we saw was a river crossing just outside the showgrounds and dad told us to open our windows, so we could get wet as we drove through it. Getting wet was lots of fun. Sometimes I walked through the river crossing, the water was freezing.

ANZAC DAY – ANZAC stands for

A: Australia

NZ: and New Zealand

A: Army

C: Corps

On ANZAC day my family and I went to the 9:30 am service. I could not see at all because adults were standing in front of me. After the ANZAC day service finished, mum and dad went to say hello to other scouts. The Canungra scouts offered us to camp at their den and we accepted. We drove our caravan to the scout’s den.

The scouts den had a swing rope, long grass that could have snakes. The den had a lot of space to play with my brothers. On Wednesday was the scouts parade. We got ready, we wore our uniform and went to the scout’s den. At cubs we made damper on a bamboo stick. First, we had to get all the ingredients and washed our hands. Once we finished we cooked the damper by the fire.

One day we decided to go to Mt Tambourine National Park. It was a long walk to get to the waterfall. Once we got there it was like a swimming pool, I was jealous because I didn’t have my swimming costume. The waterfall was beautiful.
