Mareeba - Josh

Back in Lowood we met Rohan who took us on his boat with Yui . Back then he offered for us to camp on his land in Mareeba. We finally made it to Rohan's house, his house was great and he had an orange tree next to his house, he said we could take as many oranges as we like. Jake is Rohans younger son, he swims a lot, plays basketball and plays fortnite. Yui is Rohans wife and she is from Japan, the whole family speaks Japanese.

Wheel barrow race is fun run to raise money. They run 140 km, this is the second time Jake has done the race. We made it just in time, as he was finishing we took some pics then the wheel barrow race finished in Mareeba showgrounds then we left.

Jake also played basketball we went to one of his matches, dad let us play on the phone. When it was quarter time mum, Raf and I went to the skate park and played, then we came back and watched some more. Then it was half time, this time mum got our two square ball and tried to race it, we played a little bit of two square then we came back to the match, this time I watched him until the game was over.

Back at home, Rohan let use there internet, Noah played fortnite with Jake and made friends with Jake in fortnite so he could always play with him. It was so much fun, he let us have turns.

Rohan's brother invited us for a cup of tea so we went and the dog ran to us and licked us then we met them, they were nice but only the parents were talking so I asked mum if I could go back to the caravan and she said yes so we went back.

Mum and dad organised a day trip to different beaches, one was called Palm cove and the other Port Douglas.

We had lots of fun in the sand and running away from the water, we had a mango smoothie at Port Douglas.

On the way back we came across a Mexican restaurant, we looked in and decided to have some lunch. I ordered a burrito, dad ordered a huge burger and we had some milkshakes. When the order came out, Dad's burger was enormous, probably the size of his head I didn't know how he was going to eat it.

One day we went on an overnight trip to Cape Tribulation. We decided to do this trip because we wanted to try our new tent. We were planning to take this tent to the tip of Australia. When we got there we unpacked and learnt how to set it up.

We went for a walk to the beach, we couldn't go to the water because of the crocs. Later that day we went for showers and to do our business. We went for dinner to the camp kitchen and it was pouring with rain. I played with my brothers and got ready for bed. When we went back to the tent and realised that it had collapsed because of the water. It started to leak so mum and dad went to get a cabin for us to sleep.

After Cape York, back in Mareeba we decided to go to the Great Barrier Reef. We boarded a boat and went to Green Island. Mum took some ginger tablets so she wouldn't get sick. My brothers and I kept grabbing free biscuits.

When we got there we went to get our snorkling gear, we put it on then we went to a smaller boat which took us to the outer reef. We jumped in and explored, I saw lots of turtles and fish and I nearly touched a turtle that came out to breathe.

Back in the island we still had our snorkling gear so we spend most of the day on the beach and the pool.
