We stopped at Georgetown because there was a small leak in the car tyre and also there was a pool that was free to use so that was a BONUS. As dad started to fix the tyre suddenly mum came back from the Information centre and brought some guests, Pete and Sharon who we met in Toowoomba. Pete helped dad fix the tyre then my brothers and I went to the pool and saw a dog that had no collar and it looked so cute that I decided to pat but it then ran away. The pool was cold but we still jumped in and had fun. Mum called us for lunch and we had the usual sandwiches.
Once dad finished fixing the car we went to the same caravan park where they were staying, it was called the “Goldfields” We arrived and set up camp then mum started making dinner. We started talking to Pete and Sharon and they told us about Cobbold Gorge, they said they would look after our dogs for us which was nice of them then we had dinner and went to bed.

On the next day we went to Cobbold Gorge, we arrived early so we had time to go to the infinity pool, it was sooo cold it was crazy, first Noah jumped in then I was second then Raf went in afterwards we saw a goanna. It was time for the tour so we hoped on the bus and it was only us and our tour guide was called Ross he drove a bus that took us to the gorge . Once we reached our destination we grabbed walking sticks then we set off to the gorge, it only took a little while to get to the boats but we didn’t go on the boats yet we went up to the top first then we came down.

There were so many butterflies we also saw wild bees and finally we made it to the top. We saw one boat down at the gorge, got in, took some pictures then we left and also we learnt about bush tucker. Ross started the engine and we were gone. The boat was designed like a bumper car with cushion on the sides. The gorge was amazing and narrow, it had spider webs and we were bumping every where then we decided to go back then we walked back to the truck then we drove back then we left.

The following day we met Eric the mechanic that fixed the hole in the tyre. While he was fixing it my dad was talking to him and he told him that he had made a peace monument to inspire people.

We went to see it and afterwards we went to the information centre that had a rock museum. We saw many different types of rocks including fossils, diamonds, rubies, emeralds and more.

We looked inside a dark room that had glow in the dark rocks. Then we left and said good bye to Pete and Sharon.
